Project Overview

Nestled just steps away from downtown Barrie, Dunlop Apartments offers a vibrant and convenient living experience. This modern eight-storey apartment building boasts a combination of covered and open area parking, an indoor gym, landscaped areas, and a ravine in the back of the property. With its prime location, Dunlop Apartments is within a short walk to the picturesque Barrie waterfront and a quick drive to Hwy 400, offering seamless connectivity to the surrounding areas.

The aesthetic appeal of Dunlop Apartments is evident in its contemporary design, featuring high ceilings in each suite. Embracing innovative engineering solutions, all building services are seamlessly integrated within the iSPAN Composite TotalJoist floor system, ensuring efficiency and functionality. Spanning an impressive 104,500 square feet, the building comprises 93 thoughtfully designed units. As the trusted team of Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers of Record, we collaborated closely with our design partners including ISM Architects, iSPAN Systems, and Bertram Construction (Ontario) Ltd. The foundation of the building rests on sturdy concrete foundations complemented by the reliable iSPAN Total Framing System. Elevator shafts and stair walls are reinforced with strategically placed concrete shearwalls. Each suite features a precast balcony or a terrace space, providing residents with an outdoor sanctuary to relax and unwind.

In addition to our engineering expertise, we also provided the Developer with comprehensive coordination services. As the dedicated Coordinating Consultant, we meticulously managed the flow of design information, led productive design meetings, and ensured the seamless integration of various disciplines. Our attention to detail and commitment to design intent resulted in a harmonious and well-coordinated project.
