Project Overview

Lucy’s Place was an innovative conversion which created a Housing First community out of an aged motel that was experiencing chronic homelessness. This existing 4,200-sq.ft. motel and associated office were converted into 12 affordable bachelor apartment units as part of the Ontario Home for Good Initiative. There have been so many positive outcomes to report, from a significant reduction in interaction with law enforcement and emergency services, to improved access to health care and community supports. But one of the most exciting things is to watch a true community of support grow and develop.

In working with Redwood Park Communities, we were the engineers of record for the renovation providing marketing renderings, new roof canopy design, and HVAC and electrical design within the building.
